The Push Industries 118.607 Commercial HD 4-Blade Steel Impeller is our strongest, heaviest, and most durable impeller ever engineered for John Deere 47" and 54" Quick Hitch snow blowers originally equipped with the OEM plastic 3-blade impeller (AM138205).

Our standard 4-Blade Steel Impeller has become a proven upgrade for customers looking to eliminate the weak factory plastic impeller. However, commercial snow removal presents an entirely different level of abuse.

Unlike homeowners who clear the same driveway every storm, commercial operators spend countless hours clearing unfamiliar properties where hidden obstacles are simply part of the job. Frozen gravel, rocks, landscape edging, curbs, manhole covers, uneven pavement, and other concealed hazards can place tremendous loads on an impeller.

Over years of commercial use, even conventional steel impellers can eventually bend after repeated impacts. Many contractors have removed bent impellers, heated them with a torch, and hammered them back into shape just to finish the season.

We set out to engineer an impeller capable of handling these demanding conditions.

Rather than simply making the impeller heavier, we redesigned its entire support structure. The Commercial HD Impeller features a full square backplate that ties all four blades together, helping distribute impact loads across the entire impeller rather than concentrating stress through a traditional cross-style support.

Additional reinforcement has been added behind the outer portion of each blade where bending forces are greatest, while wider structural gussets provide increased support between the blades and center hub. These improvements create a significantly stronger impeller that is better equipped to withstand the punishment of commercial snow removal.

At 14.2 pounds, the Commercial HD Impeller also carries approximately 3 pounds more rotating mass than our standard 4-Blade Steel Impeller. The additional rotational inertia helps the impeller maintain momentum through heavy, wet, packed, and icy snow, resulting in smoother operation, more consistent snow discharge, and improved throwing distance.

Because many machines have been repaired or modified over the years, identifying the impeller currently installed is more reliable than using model year alone.

Installation Note

For snow blowers equipped with the exposed chain-and-sprocket drive system, the auger and impeller assembly cannot be removed from the front until the rear drive components have been disassembled. This requires removal of the chain guard, chain, sprocket, bearing retainer collar, and bearing before the auger and impeller assembly can slide forward out of the blower housing.
