4-Blade Steel Impeller | Replaces Older OEM STEEL 3-Blade AM109105 | Replacement for John Deere 47" & 54" Snow Blowers | 118.606
Vendor:Push Industries
• NOTICE: This is purchased only if your snow blower originally came with the steel 3-blade impeller OEM AM109105, typically found on pre-2012 units with the chain-and-sprocket drive system
• Direct upgrade for machines equipped with the original steel 3-blade impeller, replacing it with a higher-performance 4-blade all-steel design
• Mounts in the same blower fan plate position used by the original impeller and includes all necessary componentry to attach to the auger shear pin plate just like the OEM steel impeller
• Increased rotational mass and 4-blade geometry improve snow breakup, discharge smoothness, and throw distance, especially in heavy or icy snow
• Robust steel construction eliminates the cracking, blade failure, and fatigue issues that commonly appear on aging factory steel impellers
• The auger and impeller assembly will only slide out the front after backside disassembly is completed, which requires removing the chain guard, chain, sprocket, bearing retainer collar, and bearing on the rear of the blower
• If you are unsure whether you need 118.606 or 118.605, email pictures of your impeller and the drive mechanism on the backside of the blower to sales@pushinds.com and we will assist before purchase
The Push Industries 118.606 All-Metal 4-Blade Impeller is a direct performance upgrade for John Deere 47 and 54 front-mount snow blowers that originally came equipped with the OEM steel 3-blade impeller AM109105. This product was developed specifically for owners of older blowers who requested a heavy-duty performance replacement without converting to the later plastic impeller setup.
This upgrade is purchased only if your snow blower came from the factory with the steel 3-blade impeller. These units were most common on models produced before 2012 and can be identified by their all-steel construction, the blower fan plate originally installed on the impeller, and the chain-and-sprocket impeller drive system. Later snow blowers that came with the plastic 3-blade impeller require Push Industries 118.605 instead. Because many snow blowers have been serviced or updated over the years, identifying the impeller currently installed is the most accurate method of confirming fitment.
Plastic 3-blade OEM AM138205 requires the separate blower fan plate M161175 and appears on roughly 2012-and-newer blowers, both chain-drive and later oil-bath gearboxes. In this case you would purchase Push Industries 118.605.
Steel 3-blade OEM AM109105 has the blower fan plate installed from the factory and is most common on pre-2012 blowers with the chain-and-sprocket impeller drive system. In this case you would purchase Push Industries 118.606.
The 118.606 mounts in the same blower fan plate position used by the original steel impeller and includes all necessary componentry to attach to the auger shear pin plate just like the OEM, so no additional conversion parts are required. The upgraded 4-blade layout replaces the factory 3-blade design and increases rotational mass, improving snow breakup, discharge smoothness, and throw distance in dense or icy conditions. Reinforced steel construction prevents cracking, fatigue, and blade failures that commonly appear on older OEM steel impellers after years of winter impacts.
Snow blowers originally equipped with the OEM steel 3-blade impeller use the chain-and-sprocket impeller drive system and require a different disassembly process than the later oil-bath gearbox models. The auger and impeller assembly will not slide out the front until the backside of the blower is disassembled. The chain guard, chain, sprocket, bearing retainer collar, and bearing on the rear of the blower must be removed first before the assembly can move forward and out through the front housing. Once the assembly is removed, installation of the new impeller follows normal reassembly procedure.
If you are unsure which impeller you need, email pictures of your impeller and the drive mechanism on the backside of the blower near the drive shaft to sales@pushinds.com and we will confirm the correct part before purchase.
The 118.606 gives owners of older snow blowers the increased power, improved snow throwing capability, and long-term durability they have been asking for without changing drive system style or converting to the newer plastic impeller system.
